INES Assembly takes groundbreaking decisions

The current INES Board has been confirmed in office for the next two years. The Initiative Erdgasspeicher starts with a new website and hires employees. Erdgasspeicher Peissen GmbH joins INES on 1 January 2020.

On October 30, 2019, the INES Assembly re-elected the current INES Board for the next term of office from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021. Bernd Protze (VNG Gasspeicher GmbH) continues to hold the post of Chair of the Board. Peter Schmidt (EWE Gasspeicher GmbH) was confirmed as Deputy Chairman of the Board. Carsten Haack (Trianel Gas Storage Epe GmbH & Co. KG) and Michael Schmöltzer (Uniper Energy Storage GmbH) complete the Board as Members.

Bernd Protze, INES Chairman of the Board, expressed his thanks on behalf of the Board by announcing numerous activities. "We are increasingly being addressed by politicians, scientists and business as dialogue partners. In order to continue to meet the associated requirements and to optimally design our path of growth in organizational terms, the INES employee structure will be expanded", Bernd Protze explained in the meeting. In addition, INES also welcomes a new member company. "I am delighted that INES has been able to acquire Erdgasspeicher Peissen GmbH (EPG) as a new member. The accession not only strengthens the INES financially, but also enriches the technical discussions within the association," he adds.

In the same Assembly, the INES members were introduced to the new INES website. "We are pleased to be able to offer our partners and all interested parties an even easier and more extensive access to the gas storage industry in Germany", commented INES Management Director Sebastian Bleschke. "The new website is an important building block for further expanding the communication activities of our dynamic association."

In addition, you will find in our multimedia area a selection of interesting explanatory films, i.e. on the contributions of gas storage to the energy transition.
